The Results are in.....

Three months ago, my sister and I started our 90
day weight loss challenge. At the time, I thought
I was ready to drop the weight and the unhappiness
that I had been dragging around for the last two
years. but I wasn't. The first 6 weeks, I kinda
took this challenge lightly. I tried but not really.

Now in my heart, I wanted to get the weight off. I
hate feeling fat... I hated how I looked. But my
head was not in the game and until your head is in
the game, then you have no chance of winning. And then
my husband said to me one night as I sat on the couch
with a bowl of ice cream " You know, you might as well
go out and buy your sister an outfit now."
What.. are
you kidding me, my hubby seriously called me out that

Then it got me thinking.... " Did I really hate the way
I look?" YES... " Did I really want to not only lose
weight but also feel good about myself again." YES..
God YES... I wanted to feel energized, I wanted to
feel sexy again... I did this once, I can do this again.

So, I went back to what worked for me. I have tried it
all but nothing ever worked except for the Glycemic
Diet.. it is really not a diet, it is learning to eat
the right foods together to help my body burn fat and
not store it.... I hate when fat stores itself on my
belly, on my hips and on my rear... Hate. Hate Hate..
So I got real and I started back on what works for me.

Did I reach my goal weight of 150.. NO but I think if
I did take this seriously from day one, I just may have
reached that goal. But, I did not. Now, that is not
to say that I am not happy cause I am ecstatic about
my lost. Sis, I know you had your struggles right
along side of me.. cause we have faced this all our
lives... I hope you find it in you to find what
works for you. So the results are in.........

13 lbs and 9.50 inches lost. Current weight 160.

Off he goes....

I knew this day would come once we moved to Georgia.

Hubby has talked about hunting since we moved
but so far it was just talk and so I thought
GREAT.. maybe just maybe I will not
have to ever think about a poor ole Bambi
being killed. But this weekend, hubby finally
went out and bought that Tree Stand. Yikes..
But before he can actually head out to sit and
wait, he must do a test run in the back yard.

Now he waits...

and this is Ginger no doubt thinking...
" Has he lost his mind"

and this is why the dog thinks her master is crazy....

Now I completely understand this is a man thing,
going out and getting food for his family...
I get that.. but if for one minute he thinks a
dead/ stuffed animal will be hanging from my wall
He truly is CRAZY.

My Special Place

Last week, I got a call from the principle
at my son's school.... Now if this were
my older son's, I would have feared the
worst. But my youngest has always been
a good student. I thank God has finally
decided to give me a break " Thank You".

So back to that call. At first I thought
maybe he got hurt. No.. My little guy
had just one "Writer of the Month" for
the entire 4th grade... I think he gets
that from me. His prize was a limo ride
to O'Charly Restaurant... How cool is that.

Cause I am so proud and because I was so
blown away from his writing piece, I wanted
to share it with you... "My Special Place"

My special place is quite and cool.
The air is as cool as the midnight breeze.
Grass that is as soft as silk.
It is surrounded and protected by nature.
There are palm trees with bark as rough as
pine cones.
There are also fish as beautiful as roses
that just finished blooming.

In my special place I go fishing.
I go bird watching to see what they do and
what they eat.
I take pictures and sketch the exotic plants.
I watch the huge iguanas as they sit in one spot
as still as a rock.

My special place is a tree this close to a lake in Florida.
The tree towers over the houses but it is still exotic.
The water is always the perfect temperature to swim in.
These are things I do and why I like my special place.

Now, I must tell you, he made it a point to let me
know that " Mom, this was my rough draft and Ms.
Courter liked it so much, she never gave it back."

I tried to find a picture of this special place.
It was a tree behind our home in Florida. Who
knew this tree held so beautiful memories for
my little angel.

Sorry so long but I am a proud mommy.

Family and Friends

Ahhh Fall is around the corner and this
weekend was the most perfect weather and
we made the best of it with our friends
and family in from Florida.

My girlfriend from high school was in town
for the Nascar races and stopped by for a
visit and a place to rest their head after
a long day at the tracks. My husband brother
also came down for the races so we had a
house full.

With the weather so nice and cool and not a
cloud in the sky, we decided to take my brother
in law out to explore some new hiking grounds.
It was a little longer ride then expected so I had
to entertain my little one...

Our hike took us to a suspended bridge... which I
did not like cause it moved way to much for me.

The boys taking in the sites and sounds.

With the weather so cool, the Humming birds were feeling
a bit frisky. We had seven hummingbirds trying to feed
at one time. It took a lot of patience but I finally
captured one on film.

Kim just could not visit the country without a
ride on the ATV.

I tried to take her for a spin myself but she
seemed a little afraid... as she should be.

All and all it was a great time with great friends.
